Advent Day #4

 Tea #4

“Ginger & Sicilian Lemon Infusion”

Sometimes referred to as herbal tea, this beverage is not actually tea but rather an infusion, which, admittedly, I may have never tried before, but I was intrigued by the two flavors. Ginger is known to aid in digestion and offer anti-inflammatory benefits, especially for joints. For me, this tea was too ginger forward, and I love ginger. I also love lemon-flavored everything, and the lemon in this tea tasted very natural, but it was overpowered by the seeming “spiciness” of the ginger. Fortnum & Mason refers to it as “fiery” ginger, and that is certainly accurate! Along with ginger and lemon peel, this infusion contained lemongrass, lemon myrtle, cinnamon, and turmeric, as well as “flavourings.” I was happy to see so many natural sources of lemon, and cinnamon and turmeric offer wonderful health benefits. However, the potential healing benefits were not enough for me. I would not recommend this for anyone who does not thoroughly enjoy ginger. 3/10
